PENERAPAN METODE DEMONSTRASI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN
HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA TENTANG
POKOK BAHASAN PERUBAHAN LINGKUNGAN DAN
PENGARUHNYA

Penelitian tindakan kelas dilatarbelakangi karena rendahnya nilai hasil
pembelajaran IPA tentang Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya, halini dapat
dilihat dari tes hasil belajar siswa yang sebagian besar belum mencapai KKM.
Keadaan ini mungkin disebabkan karena metode yang digunakan oleh guru masih
monoton dengan ceramah, Tanya jawab dan penugasan. Mengatasipermasalahan
tersebut maka guru melakukan PTK dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi.
Berdasarkan latar belakang diatas, maka rumusan masalahnya adalah: (1)
Bagaimanakah perencanaan pembelajaran IPA tentang pokok bahasan Perubahan
Lingkungan danPengaruhnya melalui penerapan metode demonstrasi di kelas IV?,
(2) Bagaimanakah pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA tentang pokok bahasan
Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya melalui penerapan metode demonstrasi
di kelas IV?, (3) Bagaimanakah hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA
tentang pokok bahasan Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya melalui
penerapan metode demonstrasi di kelas?. Adapun tujuan penelitian yang ingin
dicapai yaitu: (1) mengungkap perencanaan pembelajaran dengan penerapan
metode demonstrasi tentang materi Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya, (2)
mengungkap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi
tentang materi Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya, (3) mengungkap hasil
belajar siswa dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi tentang materi Perubahan
Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam Penelitian
Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengadaptasi model Kemmis& Mc. Taggart yang
meliputi empat komponen dalam setiap siklusnya yakni perencanaan,
pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua
siklus.Subjekpenelitian ini adalah siswa MI Nyalindung yang berjumlah 32
siswa.Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu lembar
observasi dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menggunakan metode demonstrasi
meliputi penyusunan RPP, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar. Begitu
pun dengan hasil belajar siswa yang mengalami peningkatan pada setiap
siklusnya, keaktifan siswa lebih meningkat karena lebih termotivasi untuk belajar,
pengolahan waktu sesuai dengan yang ditentukan karena pembagian kelompok
dan tempat duduk dilakukan sebelum pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdasarkan

IMPLEMENTATION OF DEMONSTRATION METHOD TO IMPROVE
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN LEARNING ABOUT IPA
REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES AND EFFECTS

Action research is motivated because of the low value of science learning
outcomes of the Environmental Change and its implications, it can be seen from
the test results that the majority of students have not reached the KKM. This
situation might be due to the method used by the teacher still monotonous lecture,
direct teaching, and assignments. Overcome these problems the teachers do
classroom action research with the adoption of demonstration method. Based on
the above, the formulation of the problem are: (1) How does the science lesson
plan on the subject of Environmental Change and Its Effect through the
implementation of demonstration method in grade IV?, (2) How is the
implementation of the science lesson on the subject of Environmental Change and
Its Effect through the application of the method demonstrations in grade IV?, (3)
How is student learning outcomes in science teaching on the subject of
Environmental Change and Its Effect through the implementation of
demonstration method in the class?. The research objectives to be achieved,
namely: (1) uncover the learning plan with the application of the method of
demonstration material Environmental Change and Its Influence, (2) reveal the
implementation of learning with the application of the method of demonstration
material Environmental Change and Its Influence, (3) reveal student learning
outcome by applying demonstration method for material Environmental Change
and Its Influence. The method used in the Classroom Action Research (CAR) to
adapt the model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart which includes four components ie in
each cycle of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research
was conducted in two cycles. Subjects of this study were students who are 32
students of MI Nyalindung. Instrument was used to collect the data that the
observation sheet and test question. The results using the method of preparation of
the demonstration include lesson plans, teaching practices and learning outcomes.
So even with the learning outcomes of students who have increased in each cycle,
active students further increased because more motivated to learn, the processing
time according to the prescribed due to the division of the group and the seating is
done before the learning takes place. Based on the above results it can be
concluded that the implementation of demonstration method can improve learning
outcomes and student activity in the matter of the Environmental Change and Its
Influence.
