ACTION INITIATIVE
KURABESI PROJECT ON COVID-19 | 2020
WHY ?
The world has stop by COVID-19 and caused unprecedented crisis of civilization.
COVID-19 has impacted many businesses, resulting in massive job losses. This
means that thousands of people have lost their regular income, and are unable
to provide for their and their families’ basic needs. There is a need to address
basic needs such as
provision of nutritious food in the immediate term, and in the mid to longer term
to develop. If those happened in big cities, think again how this problem worsen
in coastal area, such as Raja Ampat.

EYES ON SEA
This initiative is taken to maximize the use of idle
liveaboard to transport logistic and medical supply as
well as a joined-patrol boat in coastal area.
TARGETTED LOCATION
We start at the heart of coral triangle,
Raja Ampat,
where the
marine protected area treated by destructive fishing and coastal
community lack of logistic/medical supplies.
PILOT PROJECT
Delivering soap, mask, PPE, face shield & educative posters in
Wailebet.
Kofiau, Waigama and
The boat sailed on May 28 2020 for 5 days sailing trip.
EXPECTED IMPACT
1. Coastal community get support in heightened hygiene facilities
2. Increased public knowledge, reduced movement, and improved hygiene
3. Local medical personal and targetted healthcare ready for COVID-19 protection
4. Employ local dive guide for monitoring the marine protected area

opportunities for tourism workers in Raja Ampat.
