TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

What is Formal Invitation?
• Invitation comes in written text and conversation. It is used to ask
someone to go to a place or to do something.
• Types of invitation are formal and informal. We use formal language in the
formal invitation. Informal invitation tends to use casual language.
• In inviting someone you have to explain at least:
1. Kinds of invitation (Event)
2. Time (day, date, hour)
3. Place
4. Dress code
5. Gift to bring
What is the purpose of the Invitation?
• The primary purpose of an invitation is to invite
someone to come, to invite people to join, to ask
someone to attend, and to ask people to take part
in something.
How about the generic
structure?
 The first line is the name(s) of the
person(s) who invite(s) / inviter
 The second line
is
the request
for participation / phrasing of the
invitation
 The third line is the name of the
person(s) invited (invitee)
 The fourth line

the
occasion for
invitation.

Language
Ally feature
• Formal invitation tends to use pronoun “we” rather than “I” since the writer of the
invitation is usually a representative of a company or institution.. Informal invitation
usually tends to use pronoun “I”.
• Formal invitation follows a dignified form, tone or style in agreement with an establish
norm, custom or values. Informal invitation tends to use casual language.
• Using Simple Present Tense and Present Future Tense.
