SEKILAS TENTANG PPDGJ III | ICD-10 | DSM-IV TR
Pedoman Penggolongan Penyakit dan Diagnosis Gangguan Jiwa (PPDGJ-III) merujuk pada
standard dan system pengkodean dari International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) dan
system multiaksis dari Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV).
Berikut sedikit dijelaskan sekilas tentang DSM yang dikeluarkan oleh American Psychiatric
Association (APA) dan ICD yang dikeluarkan oleh WHO.
DSM-I telah selesai disusun pada tahun 1952 oleh APA(American Psychiatric
Association). Edisi kedua keluar pada tahun 1968, kemudaian disusul setelahnya
edisi ke-13 pada tahun 1980, yang akhirnya dilakukan revisi kembali pada
tahun1987(DSM-III R), dan pada tahun 1994 APA mengeluarkan lagi DSM-IV, yang
akhirnya di revisi kembali manjadi DSM-IV TR(text revision) pada tahun 2000.
DSM-IV dan DSM-IV TR dikeluarkan setelah melalui persetujuan dengan ICD-9 CM
(clinical modification).
ICD sudah digunakan lebih lama, dan pada saat ini infrastruktur ICD telah
menginvestasikan dalam pengembangan sistem pengkodean komputer, “casemix”, dan sistem diagnosis. Dari sumber lain berbahasa Indonesia dikatakan “DSMIV didesain untuk mendampingi ICD-10, disusun pada tahun 1992. Pada waktu itu
terdapat konsensus yang kuat bahwa sistem diagnosis di USA harus sesuai dgn
klasifikasi penyakit internasional (ICD-10) sedangkan ICD-10 merupakan sistem
klasifikasi tertinggi yg digunakan di Eropa & negara-negara lain dii dunia.

Berikut adalah dokumen Pedoman Penggolongan dan Diagnosis Gangguan Jiwa
