Abstract. Andi Muh. Ruum Sya'baan, G2O1 14 013, "Social problems in a
novel Negeri Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk Work Tere Liye"

One of the funcions of literary work is to express the problems of human and
humanity. The life of human can not be separated from the problem of socials
from all aspects. Reading the novel of Negeri Para Bedebah and Negeri Di Ujung
Tanduk by Tere Liye, invited us to see the phenomena of life like social,
economic, and politic occured inside. literary works could be comprehended only
by returning it back to its root of social, through the analysis of the author, literary
and the readers. Therefore, the sociology of literature is regarded as ne of the way
to see how literary work are expressed.
The problems of the research were 1) the background of the author, 2) critics of
the author, 3) social critics found in the literary works, 4) values of characther
education.
Based on the analysis on the object novel Negeri Para Bedebah and Negeri Di
Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye using the sociology literature approach, writer found
out that: 1) the sociology of the author comprised of: a) social status of the author,
b) ideology of the author, c) social and cultural background of the author, d)
sosciety of the readers, e) bread living and professionalism of the author. 2) social
critic of the author to the problems of social, 3) social critic related to the
problems social of the novel Negeri Para Bedebah and Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk
by Tere Liye comprised: a) white collar crime, b) moralities issue. c0 crime of
law. 4) values of education character found in the novel Negeri Para Bedebah and
Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye, comprised of a) Strength, b) Natiolism, c)
Risk.

Karya sastra berfungsi sebagai salah satu wadah untuk mengungkapkan
masalah manusia dan kemanusiaan. Jelas bahwasanya kehidupan manusia tidak
dapat dipisahkan dari permasalahan sosial dari berbagai aspek. Membaca novel
Negeri Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk karya Tere Liye, kita diajak
untuk melihat seperti apa kehidupan sosial, ekonomi dan politik yang terjadi di
dalamnya. Karya sastra dapat dipahami secara lengkap hanya dengan
mengembalikannya pada latar sosial yang menghasilkannya, melalui analisis
dalam kerangka pengarang, sastra dan pembaca. Oleh karena itu, dalam menelaah
novel Negeri Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk karya Tere Liye,
digunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra.
Permasalahan yang dikemukakan dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan
(1) Latar belakang pengarang, (2) Bentuk kritik sosial pengarang terhadap
masalah-masalah sosial, (3) kritik sosial yang berkaitan dengan masalah sosial
yang terdapant di dalam karya sastra, dan (4) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian analisis terhadap objek kajian novel Negeri
Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk Karya Tere Liye menggunakan
pendekatan sosiologi sastra, peneliti menemukan : (1) Sosiologi pengarang
meliputi : (a) Status sosial pengarang, (b) Ideologi sosial pengarang, (c) Latar
belakang sosial budaya pengarang, (d) Masyarakat pembaca yang dituju, (e) mata
pencaharian sastrawan dan profesionalisme dalam kepengarangan. (2) Kritik
sosial pengarang terhadap masalah-masalah sosial, (3) Kritik sosial yang berkaitan
dengan masalah sosial dalam novel Negeri Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung
Tanduk karya Tere Liye meliputi : (a) White Collar Crime, (b) Isu Moralitas, (c)
Mafia hukum. (4) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam novel
Negeri Para Bedebah dan Negeri Di Ujung Tanduk Karya Tere Liye, meliputi :
(a) Tangguh, (b) Nasionalis, (c) Berani mengambi resiko.
