the filarial parasite and the host immune system determines the immunological outcomes including: (a)
protection against infection; (b) parasite specific T cell hypo-responsiveness and alteration of APC function;
(c) chronic infection; (d) protection against pathology and (e) anti-inflammatory bystander suppression.
