STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
 In Indonesia Junior students’ perception in Indonesia still neglected
 Knowing the qualities of English teachers based on Junior High School students’
perception is hoped to help the teachers have and idea of what their students
think and those reflect to the teachers performance and behavior while teaching
Junior High School students. It is really important to know the high school
students’ perception of Junior high school because the students have different
background.
LIMITATION OF THE PROBLEM
 To extent Students’ perception of their English teacher qualities in teaching
English
 To extent why the students have those perception about their English teacher
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
 1. What are the students’ perceptions of their English teachers qualities at Junior
High School level?
 2. Why the students have those perceptions of their English teachers qualities at
Junior of High School level?
PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH

PARTICIPANTS
Most of qualitative research often use purposive sampling. The researcher will use
purposive sampling in choosing the participants(Gay, 1997).
The participant in this research is the eight year students at MTS Bustanul Ulum
Pekanbaru. The total of participants are 30 Eight Year Students at MTS Bustanul
Ulum Pekanbaru.
DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUE
 Observation:Conducting the observation by taking field note while observing the
participants in the classroom.
 Interview:
 The researcher as interviewer provides some questions, ask for explanation, take
note, etc. in conducting interview the researcher focus on group interview and will
use audio tape to record to transcribe them
Questioners:
It is written or printed list of questions to be answered by a number of people.
