ABSTRAK
MOH. ZAINUN NASHORI ASHAR. Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Tindakan Masyarakat
Pesisir Tentang Pentingnya Pelestarian Lingkungannya. Di bawah bimbingan DJUARA P.
LUBIS.
Laju pertumbuhan penduduk mencapai dua kali lipat setiap satu dekade. Manusia yang
dikenal sebagai makhluk yang tidak pernah puas, maka akan terus ingin memenuhi segala
keinginannya. Dalam proses pemenuhannya tersebut secara langsung maupun tidak langsung
menimbulkan masalah, salah satunya masalah lingkungan hidup. Akibat masalah lingkungan
hidup tersebut maka memerlukan pelestarian lingkungan dalam proses menanggulanginya.
Salah satu wilayah yang perlu pelestarian adalah wilayah pesisir. Dalam hal ini masyarakat di
sekitar pesisir yang memiliki peran penting terhadap pelestarian. Pelestarian lingkungan ini
akan terjadi tergatung dari perilaku masyarakatnya. Perilaku masyarakat sendiri dipengaruhi
oleh beberapa faktor seperti pendidikan dan sikap masyarakat. Pendidikan dan sikap
masyarakat akan mempengaruhi tindakan masyarakat dalam proses pelestarian terhadap
lingkungan hidup.

The population growth rate has doubled every decade. Human beings known as the never
satisfied, it will continue to fulfill his desires. In the process of its accomplishment is directly
or indirectly caused problems, one of which environmental issues. Due to environmental
concerns is the need to conserve the environment in the process of overcoming it. One of the
areas that need preservation is the coastal zone. In this case, the communities around the
coast which has a vital role to preserve. Protecting the environment is going to happen
tergatung of behavior of the society. People's behavior was influenced by several factors such
as education and public attitudes. Education and public attitudes will influence the actions of
people in the process of preservation of the environment.
