What does mean AIDS??
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms
decreased immune, so that the body becomes vulnerable to other deadly diseases.
This disease is caused by a virus called Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
There are four stages of HIV virus to multiply them:
1) Incubation stage
Generally there are no visible symptoms. Some people may feel tired, there
are swollen lymph nodes (in the armpit, neck and thighs). During this period
HIV in the blood can not be determined. But, HIV patients can transmit to
others.
2) Window period
After 3 – 6 months, blood tests will show signs of HIV positive or known as
seropositivity. Its mean, inside human body substance had formed antibodies
against the virus HIV.
3) Quite stadium
This period usually runs around 2 -10 years (on average five years). In this
period, the patient may appear physically normal or only mild illness
common. However, gradually, HIV damages the immune system.
4) Full Blown
During this period, the virus would destroy a large skilled or all of the
immune system, its began to appear opportunistic infections. Example is an
inflammation of the lungs, skin cancer, tuberculosis, neurological disease, etc.
This disease difficult to made well. Generally, if the situation deteriorated
patients, the disease can cause death.
HIV can be transmitted through:
1) Transmission through sexual intercourse
2) Transmission through blood transfusion
3) Transmission through injecting
4) Transmission via pregnancy and nursing mothers
HIV is not transmitted through:
1) Shaking hands with AIDS patients
2) Play together with people with patients
3) Sleep together with AIDS patients
4) Exchange clothes or other objects owned by people with HIV patients
5) Eat and drink together with AIDS patients, etc.
All of us, especially for teenagers, must “protect yourself” from AIDS. Its important,
if a teen infected with HIV, overall future goals and despair can be broken front.

A. Abstinence or fasting for unmarried teenagers
B. Be faithful to their spouse for a married
C. Condoms for those who are in special circumstances such as husbands

penurunan kekebalan, sehingga tubuh menjadi rentan terhadap penyakit mematikan
lainnya. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh virus yang disebut Human Immunodeficiency
Virus (HIV). Ada empat tahap dari virus HIV untuk mereka berkembangbiak:
1) Stadium Inkubasi
Umumnya tidak ada gejala terlihat. Beberapa orang mungkin merasa lelah,
ada pembengkakan kelenjar getah bening (di ketiak, leher dan paha). Selama
periode ini HIV dalam darah tidak dapat ditentukan. Tapi, pasien dapat
menularkan HIV kepada orang lain.
2) Stadium awal
Setelah 3-6 bulan, tes darah akan menunjukkan tanda-tanda HIV-positif atau
disebut seropositif. Ini berarti, pada dasarnya tubuh manusia telah membentuk
antibodi terhadap virus HIV.
3) Stadium tenang
Periode ini biasanya berlangsung sekitar 2 -10 tahun (rata-rata lima tahun).
Pada periode ini, pasien dapat muncul secara fisik normal atau hanya sakit
ringan biasa. Namun, secara perlahan, HIV akan menghancurkan sistem
kekebalannya.
4) Stadium AIDS
Selama periode ini, virus akan menghancurkan sebagian besar atau seluruh
sistem kekebalan tubuh, sehingga mulai muncul infeksi oportunistik. Contoh
adalah peradangan paru-paru, kanker kulit, TBC, penyakit saraf, dll sulit
untuk menyembuhkan penyakit. Secara umum, jika kondisi pasien
memburuk, penyakit ini bisa menyebabkan kematian.
HIV bisa menular melalui:
1) Penularan melalui hubungan seksual
2) Penularan melalui transfusi darah
3) Penularan melalui suntikan
4) Penularan melalui ibu hamil dan menyusui
HIV tidak menular melalui:
1) Bersalaman dengan pasien AIDS
2) Bermain bersama dengan pasien AIDS
3) Tidur dengan pasien AIDS
4) Bertukar pakaian atau barang lain yang dimiliki oleh pasien HIV
5) Makan dan minum, bersama-sama dengan pasien AIDS , dll
Kita semua, terutama untuk remaja, harus "melindungi diri" dari AIDS. Ini penting,
jika remaja terinfeksi HIV, tujuan masa depan secara keseluruhan bisa hancur. Secara
mudah, perlindungan dari AIDS dapat dilakukan dengan ABC.
A. Abstinence atau puasa bagi remaja yang belum menikah
B. Jadilah setia kepada pasangan mereka
C. Condom bagi mereka yang berada dalam keadaan khusus seperti suami atau
remaja yang tidak kuat puasa atau setia (atau masturbasi) dan didorong untuk
perzinahan
