PRODUKSI BIOGAS DARI LIMBAH CAIR PENGOLAHAN SAGU
DENGAN PENAMBAHAN BAKTERI DARI RUMEN SAPI

INTISARI
Produksi biogas dari limbah cair sagu dengan penambahan bakteri dari cairan
rumen sapi telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh biogas
dari hasil pencampuran limbah cair sagu dan mikroba dari rumen sapi. Tahapan
penelitian yang dilakukan adalah (1) produksi biogas dengan berbagai variasi
limbah cair sagu, bakteri, dan waktu inkubasi; (2) analisis gas metana yang
dihasilkan; (3) analisis proksimat limbah cair sagu sebelum dan setelah perlakuan.
Hasil penelitian menujukkan biogas yang dihasilkan dari pencampuran tersebut
mampu menghasilkan gas metana pada berbagai variasi perbandingan. Produksi
biogas tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan limbah cair sagu (1000 mL) ditambah
bakteri dari rumen sapi 18×1010 bakteri. Waktu fermentasi 12 minggu. Total
biogas yang dihasilkan sebesar 17.481 mL, dengan komposisi 105,37 mL gas CO2
(0,60% v/v) dan komposisi biogas tanpa CO2 sebesar 17375,63 mL (99,39% v/v).
Hasil analisis proksimat limbah cair sagu sebelum perlakuan diperoleh kadar C,
N, P sebesar 2412 ; 980,20 ; 12,56 mg/L. Kadar COD, BOD, dan TSS sebesar
3699, 1137, 2250 mg/L. Hasil analisis proksimat limbah biodigester sisa
fermentasi setelah perlakuan diperoleh kadar C, N, P sebesar 402 ; 193,19 ; 4,19
mg/L. Kadar COD, BOD, dan TSS setelah perlakuan yaitu 1490, 400, 610 mg/L.

THE PRODUCTION OF BIOGAS FROM WASTE WATER OF SAGO
ASSOCIATED WITH BACTERIA ADDITION FROM COW RUMEN

ABSTRACT
Production of biogas from Sago waste water with bacteria addition from cow
rumen liquid has been done. This research aims to obtain biogas from sago waste
water added microbe from cow rumen. This research steps are (1) biogas
production from several variation of sago waste water : bacteria ratio and
incubation duration; (2) methane gas analysis; (3) proximate analysis of sago
waste water before and after treatment. Result of this research indicates that the
methane gas is able to be generated from several variation of sago waste water :
bacteria mixing. The maximum biogas production is recorded from sago waste

water treatment (1000 mL) added with bacteria from cow rumen 18x10 bacteria.
Fermentation duration is 12 weeks. Total of biogas generated is 17,481 mL
consisting of 105.37 mL Carbon dioxide (0,60% v/v) and consisting of biogas
without Carbon dioxide 17375.63 mL (99.39%(v/v)). Proximate analysis result of
sago waste water before the treatment reveals that the value of C, N, and P
containing is 2412; 980.20; and 12.56 mg/L, respectively. The value of COD,
BOD, and TSS parameter is 3699; 1137; and 2250 mg/L, respectively. Result of
proximate analysis of biodigester waste (fermentation residue) after treatment
shows that the value of C, N, and P containing is 402; 193.19; and 4.19 mg/L,
respectively. The value of COD, BOD, and TSS parameter after treatment is
1490; 400; and 610 mg/L, respectively.
