What are the different types of water shutoff valves

What are the different types of water shutoff valves?
Indispensable on any water network, valves allow part of the pipes to be isolated without
having to cut off the general supply.
Very useful when a leak occurs during a repair or modification, the shut-off valve facilitates
interventions while avoiding water damage.
In some cases, the valves can also allow a purge to protect the pipes against freezing.
However, there are many types of valves in various materials, each of which has a specific
function and role.
Angle stop valve
The angle valve is most often set up and used for supplying a flush, and to a lesser extent, for
sanitary installations such as a sink supply.
The Forged steel valves manufacturer in India produced angle valves are mainly metal
with a chrome finish; the entry-level is in brass type butterfly-operated draw-off valve.
The name of the angle valve comes from the fact that there is a 90 ° elbow between the inlet
and the outlet of the faucet, making it easier to install and connect the power supply without
going too far from the wall.
PVC pressure valve
The pressure PVC valves are mainly used in industry or technical installations because it is
unusual to accept high fluid pressure and be easy to install while remaining lightweight.
The carbon steel ball valve manufacturers made valves that equip these types of networks.
Generally, these valves are of the quarter-turn ball or ball type.
PE valve
Titanium Ball Valve manufacturers made PE valve (in an external chamber or at the
entrance to buildings). This is very useful when there is a leak between the brake pipe and the
building in question.
Quarter-turn valve
The quarter turn is in fact the control mode of the valve. It is found on several types of
valves, whether they are pressure PVC, PE, brass, etc. But most of the times, when you talk
about quarter-turn valves, mean industrial type valves in stainless steel or brass.
Butterfly valve
As with the quarter-turn valve, the butterfly valve takes its name from its operating principle.
There is therefore a whole panel of valves which are equipped with a butterfly control.
Once again, as for the quarter-turn valve, the butterfly valve is the term which more
particularly designates the metallic stop valves (stainless steel, brass).
The butterfly valve is characterized by its control, but it goes up like a quarter-turn valve.
At home, it is found in the same places as a quarter-turn valve because their characteristics
are very similar (only the control handle is different).
Solar valve
The solar valve is specifically intended for solar installations, where the fluids can be at very
high temperature.
This type of valve can be quarter-turn or butterfly, 2 or 3-way, and is mostly made of brass,
often accompanied by a Teflon treatment.
This valve is intended for the primary circuit of a solar installation.
On the assembly side, being metallic, the solar valve is connected like any other valve. Once
again, what sets it apart is its ability to resist temperature while ensuring its role as a shut-off
valve.
