<b>ABSTRAK</b><br>
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai penggunaan variasi nama hewan dalam peribahasa Betawi. Tujuan
penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan nama hewan apa sajakah yang tersebut dalam peribahasa Betawi,
mendeskripsikan hubungan makna leksikal dan makna lain yang diwadahi oleh peribahasa Betawi, dan
mengetahui sifat apa sajakah yang muncul dalam peribahasa Betawi. Metode yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif interpretatif dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui hasil
wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya keberagaman penggunaan nama hewan dalam
peribahasa Betawi, yakni terdapat 19 nama hewan. Hubungan makna antara nama hewan dan makna yang
menjadi sasaran dalam peribahasa tersebut yakni ditemukan terletak di luar makna denotatif hewan. Adapun
acuan yang muncul dari penggunaan nama-nama hewan dalam peribahasa Betawi menunjukkan sifat baik
dan buruk.

<b>ABSTRACT</b><br>
This research discusses the use of the animal variation in Betawi proverbs. The purposes are to find the
name of what these animals in Betawi proverbs, described the relationship of the lexical meaning and the
other sense of meaning existing in Betawi proverbs, and to find out what are the properties that appear in
Betawi proverbs. The methods that are used in this research consist of descriptive interpretative with data
collection techniques through the results of the name of the interviews. The results of this research indicates
the presence of the use of the name of diversity of animals in Betawi proverbs, there are 19 of the name. The
relation of meaning between the name of animals reference targets in the proverbs is found located out of
denotative animals. The reference that emerged from the use of animals in the names of animals in Betawi
proverbs show the nature of good and bad.
