ABSTRACT
Mery, G2D1 15 173,“The Effect of Work Environment and Job Promotion of Staff’s
Performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and Trade of Kolaka
Regency.”Thesis. Study Program of Management Science. Postgraduate Program of

This study aimed to examine and empirically analyze the effect of work environment
and job promotion of staff’s performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and Trade
of Kolaka regency. The study had an explanatory nature which aimed at explaining the
position of variables under investigation as well as the relationship between them and the
effect of one variable on the others. The study used a method of inferential statistical
analysis. Population of the study was all civil servantsin the Office of Cooperation, Industry,
and Trade of Kolaka regency.Data were analyzed using the multiple linear regression
analysis.
Results of the study showed that: (1) work environment and job promotion had a
positively significant effect on staff’s performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry,
and Trade of Kolaka regency. The better the work environment and job promotion, the
better the staff’s performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and Trade of Kolaka
regency; (2) work environment had a positively significant effect on staff’s performance at
the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and Trade of Kolaka regency. The better the work
environment, the better the staff’s performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and
Trade of Kolaka regency; (3) job promotion had a positively significant effect on staff’s
performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry, and Trade of Kolaka regency. The better
the job promotion, the better the staff’s performance at the Office of Cooperation, Industry,
and Trade of Kolaka regency.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis secara empiris pengaruh
lingkungan kerja dan promosi jabatan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Koperasi,
Perindustrian Dan Perdagangan KabupatenKolaka. Penelitian ini bersifat explanatory yang
bermaksud menjelaskan kedudukan variabel-variabel yang diteliti serta hubungan dan
pengaruh antara satu variabel dengan variabel yang lain. Metode analisis yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis statistikainferensial. Populasi dalam penelitian
ini adalah seluruh PegawaiNegeriSipil pada DinasKoperasi, Perindustrian Dan
PerdaganganKabupatenKolaka. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear
berganda.
Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkanbahwa: (1) Lingkungan kerja dan promosi jabatan
berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerjapegawaipadaDinasKoperasi,
Perindustrian Dan PerdaganganKabupatenKolaka. Semakin tinggi lingkungan kerja dan
promosi jabatan maka kinerja pegawaipadaDinasKoperasi, Perindustrian Dan
PerdaganganKabupatenKolakaakansemakintinggi. (2) Lingkungan kerja berpengaruh positif
dan
signifikan
terhadapkinerjapegawaipadaDinasKoperasi,
